Recently, a group of active local Beijing foodies, made up of more than 1,500 WeChat members and 150,000 Weibo followers, shared their top 20 dining spots in the city. Long Time Ago 很久以前只是家串店
This stylish, DIY kebab restaurant offers six different flavors of quality chicken wings, and if you can stop at six skewers, it will only cost you RMB 38. Long Time Ago also boasts a selection of draft beer and imported red wine that will either help get your night started or top it off as this venue is only open after the sun goes down.

Wuxin Ramen 舞心拉面
This Hong Kong brand offers three basic ramen broths and will set you back up to RMB 63 depending on how much pork you want. However, these Beijing foodies say the tender meat and flavorful soup make the money worth it.

Meow Hotpot 猫抓火锅
Haidilao can offer two soup flavors at once for its hot pot, but what if you could have four kinds of broth (mushroom, spicy, tomato and creamy) in one pot? Meow isn't messing around.

Tantan Dalu 坦坦大炉
Korean owned and operated Tantan Dalu offers some of the finest quality meats in Wangjing, including Los Angeles steak (RMB 55), pork chop, rib chop and rib-eye steak. Grill aside, Tantan Dalu offers unlimited, complimentary fresh lettuce congee and seaweed soup.

Lanxi Xiaoguan 兰溪小馆
Although it's less popular in Beijing, Huaiyang cuisine is actually one of China’s four major cooking styles, representing the characteristic sweet and salty flavors of Huai'an, Yangzhou and Zhenjiang in Jiangsu Province. Lanxi Xiaoguan serves classic, Huaiyang style braised spring bamboo shoots (RMB 38), and the popular zhuaxia, a large plate of spicy shrimp and seafood meant to be eaten with your hands.

Long Time Ago is good but I wish they offered more choices for spices and other condiments, their mix is a bit bland and limited.
