EAT: Mosto's Risotto Carbonara, Carnivore’s Club, Zhang Mama Unofficial Expansion, Feast Indonesian Food Week

The next session of the Carnivore's Club with Chef Marino from Opera Bombana is scheduled for March 24. The meal includes five-courses: beef tongue with tuna belly and caper sauce, oxtail consommé with veal shank agnolotti, parmigiana-style beef tripe cooked in tomato and onions, braised beef cheeks with polenta and taleggio fondue, and a strawberry and limoncello pavlova with mascarpone cream. To get involved with this Beijing favorite, book as soon as possible by calling 8414 9820.

Zhang Mama, our Sichuan neighborhood go-to has unofficially expanded its original Fensiting Hutong location. I say unofficial because, although we were all seated there and one of the staff members told us that the room next door was also part of the restaurant, another staff member wasn’t 100 percent convinced that we were supposed to be sitting there. Anyways, the food was served and there were others eating in the new space, so hopefully never-ending queues will become a horrific memory of Zhang Mama's past.

Over in Sanlitun, La Dolce Vita, located by Nearby the Tree, is launching their aperitivo daily, offering RMB 100 for a glass of fine wine and canapés, and RMB 25 for every additional glass of wine on top of that, between 6.30-9.30pm.

Also in Sanlitun, Mosto is currently serving up a risotto carbonara as part of their lunch menu that is not only "food porn" worthy, but is easily this week's favorite comfort food: risotto rice baked with bacon, and onions. A crunchy cheese crust adds the final moreish touch. The risotto's only on the menu until this Friday (Mar 4), so you'd better head over quick, and can be tried as part of a two-course menu for RMB 95.

And finally, EAST Hotel's Feast Indonesian Food Week is now happening until March 4. Get yourself over there for some of the best Indonesian food Beijing has ever seen
