Three Waterside Spots Where You Can Escape the Heat

It's getting hotter each day! Why not cool off with a trip (or a quick stoll) to the waterfront? Here are three riverside and waterside spots where you can escape the heat.

1. Liangmahe International Customs Waterfront

Dubbed the Seine of Beijing, the Liangma River spans 9.3 kilometers of the northeastern Huchenghe that extends into Jiuxianqiao. Here, you can take a walk alongside the river, try your hand at paddleboarding and kayaking, or even go fishing (shoulder to shoulder with lots of Beijing daye, of course).  If you love outdoor activities and enjoy sipping on some red wine by the riverside, you're definitely going to spend a lovely evening here.

2. Baihewan

Located in Liulimiao town in Huairou district, Baihewan is especially lovely during the summer months. The area winds through a rocky canyon and has plenty of natural pools and streams. The area is pretty unpopulated, making it a perfect spot for anyone looking to escape the crowds.

You can set up a sent and throw yourself a little barbecue party or even have a water fight to cool yourself down in summer.

3. Luomahu Park 罗马湖

Known as the "Little Houhai of Shunyi", Luomahu Park's lakeside is filled with lots of restaurants and cafes from which you can sit and bask waterside. Whether you're looking for pizza or paella, this place has a little bit of something for everybody.

On a clear day, you can get a glimpse of lotus flowers dotting on the river looming in the distance, making it a perfect spot to spend a casual Sunday afternoon while watching the beautiful sunset.
