2025 Year-in-Review: Places That Opened New Branches Pt. 2

2025 was quite the year for Beijing! In our 2025 Year-in-Review, we're taking a look back at the happenings in the capital from the year that was.

Following Wednesday's post about places that opened new branches in the first half of 2025, we're now taking a final look at places that opened in the second half of the year.

Tough Tongue Ping'anli

Chinese barbecue experts Tough Tongue opened a new location in Ping'anli, bringing their signature brews and barbecue to the Xisi area. The interior is packed with nostalgic vibes, featuring elements from old movies, retro toys and classic kung fu films straight out of the '80s and '90s – adding a nice, quirky, vintage touch to the space.

El Nido x Fang Bar x NiNiNi

El Nido opened up a fifth branch in Beijing in Longhui. For this location, they collaborated with longtime partners Fang Bar along with bakery NiNiNi. Here they've got 18 beers on tap as well as a range of cocktails courtesy of Fang Bar and coffee from NiNiNi. Foodwise, El Nido's usual menu of snacks, platters and Western-style food is available, and NiNiNi offer a range of baked goods. The space itself is pretty impressive, with a large indoor and outdoor area, and it's also pet-friendly, so you can feel free to bring your furry friend along!

COMMUNE Wukesong, Zhongguancun Art Park and Shine Hills

There's no stopping COMMUNE, which opened up three new branches in 2025. First up, they opened a new COMMUNE RESERVE in Wukesong at the end of August. Then, right at the end of the year, they opened another new COMMUNE Reserve in Zhongguancun Art Park and finally a new COMMUNE•X in Shine Hills, the latter of which you can read more details about here. At all the new branches, you can get COMMUNE's usual selection of delicious brunch options, burgers, pizzas, snacks and more. As always, they have a wide variety of their craft beers on tap as well as cocktails, wine and other drinks.

Wild Kite Solana

In September 2025, Wild Kite opened a new location in Solana, its third branch in the capital. Located right next door to Q MEX, it's spread out across two floors and has an impressive 31 beers on tap. Along with the beer, they've got their usual delicious burger offerings, which have won them fourth place in the Beijinger's last two Juicy Burger Cups. For this location, they also upgraded their fruit-smoked barbecue system to elevate their smoked meats to an even higher level.

Jing-A Brewing Hub Zhongjun World City

Although Jing-A sadly closed its Xingfucun branch at the end of 2025, in September, they did open a new store in the CBD's Zhongjun World City. Dubbed a "Brewing Hub", unlike other Jing-A venues, this branch is relatively small and is inspired by European tapas-style eateries. Despite its size, they still have 22 of their signature brews on tap, plus a range of small eats like Lao Jim's Fried Chicken, Truffle Fries. Italian Ham & Melon and more. If you are looking for a bigger meal, they also have some of their famous burgers on the menu.

JM Cafe Niujie

JM Cafe opened a new branch on Niujie in November 2025, and befitting the area, everything on the menu at this branch is halal. Here you can get some amazing hot dogs and, of course, their famous cinnamon rolls and other baked goods.
