New Space Science and Technology Venue to Open at the End of April

The bulk of the construction of a new Beijing space science and technology popularization venue has been completed, and the venue is scheduled to open to the public at the end of April. The 3,700sqm China (Beijing) Aerospace Science Center (中国(北京)航天科学中心), which is located in Changping District’s HOPSON 超极合生汇 shopping center, will be dedicated to public science education through high-quality exhibitions and immersive experiences.
The center is specially designed for children and teens 6–16 years old and features six main themed exhibition areas arranged in sequence: Human Space Exploration, Rocket Launch Site, Satellite Research Institute, Tiangong Space Station, Lunar Base and Deep Space Exploration Center.
There are areas tailored to give participants a laboratory experience, and there is also a Mars base experience area providing fun, interactive activities such as mining and building a shelter on Mars.
A number of authoritative space agencies, including the Beijing Institute of Space Science and Technology Information, have been involved in the course development and exhibition design process of the new center, and national aerospace engineering data forms the core of the information presented across the exhibitions.
