Flamme Lights the Candles: First Anniversary Prizes and Promotions!

Flamme marks its first anniversary on Saturday (Aug 6), but rather than throwing a big one-off party, they’re celebrating with a range of discounts and promotions on food, drinks and cinema tickets, available throughout the month of August. Flamme is also giving away a bunch of prizes for readers of the Beijinger, so pay close attention to the website and 7 Days in Beijing newsletter over the next few weeks for multiple opportunities to win.

The actual date of Flamme’s anniversary is on Saturday, and though it will be pretty much business as usual, they’re bringing back their Strawberry Lava Cake (RMB 58) for one day only. This proved a big hit for Valentine’s Day on February 14, so they’re wheeling it out again, partly for the anniversary, and partly for local lovers celebrating “Chinese Valentine’s Day,” which falls on Saturday.

From now up until August 31, you can take advantage of the following promotions:
Daily: For every RMB 400 spent at Flamme, customers will receive one cinema voucher for use at Sanlitun Megabox. Two things to note about this promotion:
- The Flamme vouchers can only be used Monday to Thursday, and only at Sanlitun Megabox.
- If you want to go to see a “blockbuster” movie (ie. The likes of Transformers and Harry Potter, as well as 3-D films), you’ll need two of the Flamme vouchers before you can claim one free cinema ticket at Megabox. If you only have one voucher, you’ll get a 50 percent discount on your “blockbuster” ticket.

(Aug 6 note: Flamme have informed us that the following promotion has been canceled.) Daily: With any steak order, just add RMB 25 to enjoy all-you-can-drink Stella Artois. If you’re ordering a non-steak entrée, add RMB 50 for your free-flow Stella.

Sunday-Thursday: Bring your used Transformers or Harry Potter ticket stub (from any day of the week, from any Beijing cinema) to Flamme and they’ll offer you a buy-one-get-one-free deal on entrees (not including their bone-in rib eye). They’ll want to keep your ticket stub as a receipt, so don’t attempt to take advantage of this offer until you’ve actually been to see the film.

All very well, but how about winning some discounts for yourselves? We’ve got a pile of vouchers for 25 percent discounts on dining at Flamme to give away. Just answer this question: Flamme is famous for its "sous-vide" steaks; what does the French term “sous-vide” mean? Email your answers to win@thebeijinger.com, along with your name and mobile number.

That’s all for now, but look out for more chances to win with Flamme coming up over the next few weeks.
