Coming Soon: Chili's, New Turkish Feast, Side Street & More

There has been a flurry of closures recently in Beijing, with the latest victim being the surprise closure of Migas Mercado last week, a big blow to the F&B industry. However, it isn't all doom and gloom, with some exciting new openings also in the works.

Beijing is about to get its first Chili's, both Turkish Feast and Side Street will be opening new branches and Popeyes looks set to return to the capital. Read on to find out more…

Chili's to Open Its First Beijing Branch

Fans of the American restaurant chain Chili's will be excited to learn that it will soon be coming to Beijing. Set to open in December in the Zhongguancun area in Haidian, this location will be the first Chili's branch in the capital, however the chain already has a strong foothold in China with nine stores in Shanghai.

The exact opening date is yet to be announced, but they've already released a sneak peek of the menu, which includes signature dishes like their famous Oldtimer with Cheese burger, Smoked Baby Back Ribs, Shredded Beef Fajita and more. To keep up-to-date on the latest Chili's news, you can follow their official WeChat account (ID: chilis奇利斯美式小餐馆).

Turkish Feast to Open New Branch in Shunyi

It looks like there's no stopping Turkish Feast. After opening a third branch in the capital last year in Wangfujing, they've now set their sights on Shunyi. The new branch will be located in Shine Hills with a prospective opening date of the end of March next year. In the meantime, why not head to one of their existing branches and try out some of their new breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings?

Side Street to Open New Branch Near the Olympic Park

Another beloved Beijing brand set to open a new branch is Side Street. Located in Polpas Shopping Mall near the Olympic Park, this will be Side Street's third branch in the capital. They're aiming to open in January next year, so be sure to follow their official WeChat (ID: Side Street 街旁) for all the latest news. If you've got a hankering for their burgers and other delicious offerings, be sure to check out the weekly specials at their Jianguomen and Jiaodaokou branches.

Popeyes Set to Return to Beijing

Southern fried chicken restaurant Popeyes is set to return to Beijing after more than 20 years. The new shop is slated to open in Wangfujing, which was the same area it opened its first Beijing branch in back in 1999; however, Popeyes then withdrew from China in 2003. Popeyes briefly returned to China, opening a store in Shanghai in 2020, but then closed all stores in 2022. They then once again returned to Shanghai in 2023 and now look to be expanding their business. Along with the new branch set for Beijing, they're also expanding to Nanjing and have recently opened a handful of new locations in Shanghai.

There has been no official announcement yet from Popeyes of when the Beijing store will open, but it already has a listing on Dianping and job postings have been sighted for the Beijing branch. You can follow their official WeChat (ID: Popeyes) to keep up-to-date with any news.
