The Little Easy Takes on Sanlitun Bar Street

Something’s stirring on Sanlitun Bar Street. A stone’s throw away from the seemingly continual redevelopment of Sanlitun Houjie, you may hear the sound of jazz sax. That will be The Little Easy.

There’s a distinct Chad Lager feel to his latest consultancy project: good quality drinks and good value prices. With Slow Boat craft beers on tap (RMB 40) and high-quality spirits on the shelves (RMB 30-50), there are the foundations of a good bar here among the bars-by-numbers opposite Sanlitun Village. The upper terrace is the most distinctive feature post-refurbishment; it provides a nice vantage point from which to watch the comings and goings of the Sanlitun shopping set. Chad’s involvement may not last too much longer, but he’s certainly stamped his mark on The Little Easy. Here’s hoping the staff follow his blueprint.
