Wanted: Doggy Chaperone

A handsome young Border Collie (aka Sheep Dog) needs a travelling companion for a trip to the States to take up residence in its new home. The good people at the International Center for Veterinary Servcies (ICVS) are looking for someone who can accompany the puppy through the airport. You know, buy him a Burger King, help him exchange his RMB, take him to buy some cheap aftershave, that kind of thing.

I jest, of course, but they really are looking for a kind soul to help them out. They need a ticketed passenger on an Air China or Delta flight who is willing to take the hound on the flight as excess check-in baggage.

ICVS, who are experts in pet importing and exporting, will provide all the requisite health examinations, as well as the official Beijing Animal Health and Immunity Certificate (vaccination red book required for export), and a host of other things required for the pooch to move to his new digs in America at The Glen Highland Farm, a Border Collie rescue organization. ICVS will also donate the air crate to transport the puppy on the flight.

You won't need to sit in the hold with him, nor will you have to have him sit on your lap slobbering his way through the flight.

If you think there's any chance you can help, contact ICVS for more information on 8456 1939/1940 or at icvs_china@yahoo.com.

That's the adorable little fella up there. Go here for more pictures of him.

This Border Collie puppy will be ready to fly anytime after November 18th (30-days after the rabies vaccination date).

The puppy has a kind sponsor that will pay for all of the pup's transportation related costs and the exit requirements from Beijing.

There is no quarantine requirement in the USA so the pup will be picked up by Glen Highland Farm volunteers and taken to his new home on the farm after he arrives at New York or New Jersey airports.
