#ListenParis2015 feat. DJ Youdai: Silent Disco Mix to Raise Awareness for Environmental Protection

After the pollution we experienced this week, with an AQI consistently above index for the first two days, it’s clear that many changes need to be made to protect the planet from our unhealthy dependency on coal and fossil fuels. This week, world leaders are coming together in Paris for the COP21 to begin talks about the future of emissions policies and renewable energy, to achieve, for the first time in over 20 years of UN negotiations, a binding agreement on combating climate change.

Starting from midnight on Saturday night (Dec 5), people from around the world will be participating in a Silent Disco event in remembrance for not only the tragic events that occurred in Paris last month but to also raise awareness for climate change and promoting 100 percent renewable energy by the year 2050. This will be the world’s largest musical event centered around the environment, reminding world leaders that the people are listening and that serious changes need to be made.

Tune in for 24 hours on their special #ListenParis2015 channel on Beatport, and jam out on this global platform while discovering ways you can help initiate change. DJ Youdai, the legendary radio personality, will be representing China during this epic streaming event.

While anyone can participate and hold their private Silent Disco party, make sure to follow and spread the #ListenParis2015 hashtag to find out where people will be gathering to participate in this legendary assembly of musical activism. The beauty of a Silent Disco is that DJs from around the world can participate while everyone can use headphones and smartphones to tune in, and not bother the public with amplified music.
