A Spectrum of Sprinters: Registration Now Open for Beijing Color Run, June 17

Lace up your running shoes and prepare to be splattered with a rainbow of different shades. The Beijing edition of the Color Run is slated for June 17, and registration is now open.

Xinhua describes the Color Run as "an untimed event with no winners or prizes, and runners are showered with colored powder at stations along the race."

Situated at the Beijing Garden Expo park in Fengtai, the 5km event will, according to Color Run's website, feature a "brand-new Foam Zone as they run through dreamy colored foam" along with "classic powder Color Zones" that coat runners in variety of shades. The coordinators add: "Along the course, participants can paint their aspirations on the Dream Wall ... and get the ultimate color inspiration as they party with friends at the Finish Festival amidst vibrant bursts of color throws."

In years past, the event attracted thousands of Beijingers. Their enthusiastic poses and vibrant, chalk-caked faces make for a colorfully compelling reason to get up and be active.
