The Dude is correct.

Bottom line is there is no question about it: Plan B has one of the Top 10 Burgers in Beijing, no questions asked, for two years running (I know -- I had one last weekend. It remains awesome)

I strongly recommend CDF to people with all hair types and colors! My experience was very positive and I found all of the staff incredibly professional and thorough with every service they provide.

I am an Aussie who finds it extremely difficult to find a decent hairdresser when traveling anywhere in the world as my hair is very long, incredibly thick, curly and blonde!! Not only did CDF blend my color beautifully, the cut is literally the nicest I have had since I can remember. I can't remember the last time I had so many comments about my hair :).

I also had beauty services and the beautician was fantastic.

Thank you Catherine and the team at CDF! I now do not have to be worried about my hair in Beijing!

Plan B actually didn't drop 5 places as we placed 9th in voting in 2013 and only got to compete in the burger cookoff when Blue Frog pulled out. We then tied for first when people were actually tasting the burgers, unlike this year, before voting for the best and then came in second when voting was strangley reopened after most people had already gone home or voted already and were not allowed to vote a second time. So in reality we moved up two spots, otherwise should we not have been the top seed in the second bracket instead of Slow Boat who wasn't even in the competition last year?

I hope this doesn't come across as sour grapes, I just want to compare apples to apples and not let people think our burger is worse a year later when in fact in open voting we moved up two spots.

The Dude Abides.

Who's being anal? It was help from a reader to match your title with that of the event, nothing more. Consistency is not a bad thing to aim for. But since you've decied to be such an a**, whilst your explanation may be true, that's not what the organizers titled the event. For example, Beijing Design Week should be referenced as such, not "Capital of China Potrayal Stint." Best to stick with the name the organizers have chosen instead of TBJ creating its own name for the event.

Pleasantly surprised, though it's a shame the shops and bars have gone, won't be able to drink a beer on the roof whilst looking down on the square and also less bars/shops probably mean it will be quieter, maybe good, maybe bad.

Still could have been much worse.

Your title's wrong: Int'l Craft Beer Fest to Imported Craft Beer Fest.

All the beers they are serving are International.

In this context, imported = International = from overseas *

* I suppose if you wanted to get seriously anal, you could have an "International" beer fest with Yanjing (China is a country! Hence its beer is part of the International family of beers!) and Budweiser brewed domestically (Yay it's International, yet its not imported)! but i don't think this is the intention of the organizer

With the new regulations going into effect in October, it's too early to tell what direction this will go for most in the English teaching profession here: Will hiring standards be tightened as the law is enforced, or will it just result in a proliferation of fake TESOL degrees?

I don't see anything happening, or changing.

No one was talking about the color of the teachers skin in this topic, it refers to you and me (I'm white.). Thats a whole different issue. Lets try a question to relate to your question? Why was there only one white male NBA basketbal player during the FIBA world cups last month? I don't see a problem with that. So why shold it be hard to accept in China?

Nothing will happen to those who are working in most schools, we got a guy who's been working illegal on a F and now known as an M visa for 6 years, he doesn't have a degree, our school can hire and give Z visa's so I guess a guy hiding among legal working guys makes it easy to hide and stash someone in this case. But there are school likes Hampson English that have ties with the PSB and setup teachers to be purposly caught by the PSB to #one set an example and #two collect money on the side., lits a bad joke. In Shenzhen only Web International and Hampson English are cracked down on every year, but others school go untouched and the life of these F and M or S or even Q visa teacher continue and you know what? I think it will go on like this forever. China is strict for 3 months and then everything goes back to the lazy policy way.

Having visited for the first time last night, I can say that the square has been opened up completely (presumably due to the eradication of all of the bars) and the whole place feels sterile, not unlike any other 'peoples' square' in the rest of China. Doorfronts and any signs of life or community are neatly tucked away behind those there walls and someone has dug up the lost Olympic torch of Atlantis and displayed it as a centerpiece, with matching ugly lights/fountain type things around the rest of the square, giving it an emporium of bad sculpture vibe. As I had summised previously, there are no longer any curbs facing into the square at all so the only option for sitting is currently the ground. This may change though as work is still being done and benches may be installed. Overall, skateboarders should love it.

The problem is you advertise this stuff too late. I would like to go, but you should advertise this last week. I should be reading this a week ago. Then I can plan to attend.

Why does the Beijinger tell you what is happening now instead of letting us know what will happen in a few days? I have ALREADY made plans.

HINT: POST THESE EVENTS EARLIER.
