Lysander, you are so naive. You don't realize this business is just another stock play. They produced that many bikes so the business plan projections would attract investors. From the looks of things, the owners have already cashed out and moved to Paradise; and could care less about the bikes.
Well, this is going to end poorly for everyone involved.
Maybe, and bear with me here, they should have taken their time and not just mass-produced thousands upon thousands of bikes. Now, we're getting more and more reasons for the local governments and the Transport Ministry, in general, to step in and regulate the ever-loving shite out of this industry.
All the grumbling of, "They said I could park anywhere they can't take my freedom away" won't mean a thing when all the havoc attracts the gaze of the Eye of Sauron.
My personal solution involves, in the case of Beijing anyway, establishing storage units spread evenly across the districts where excess bikes can be housed. I know you have Mobike saying they use a lot of meta-data to judge just what areas need however many bikes, but PR speak is as PR speak does.
I would like to say that it is really a nice and informative article. I liked this one and would love to share this with my fellow as well after mine https://www.goldenbustours.com/lasvegas-tours/ to read and collect information
Thanks for the shout-out TBJ! To update the information above, we're not sure "a little market" is the best description *mosking* - we run for two days with over 40 stalls, with performances from three music & dance schools - and also magicians! Plus CGTN (formerly CCTV9) will be there on Christmas Eve doing a live broadcast!
There won't be many baked goods but we will have the most important ones - Christmas cupcakes and mince pies! The event hours have also been extended from 10am to 9pm! With lots of activities for kids, a plethora of shopping and delicious eats - and both mulled wine AND mulled cider, it's so good that even Santa will be there!
Well, I am a traveler and this article is really informative for me. China is really a well-known country in the world due to its amazing attractions. I have taken a tour of there before my https://www.goldenbustours.com/los-angeles-bus-tours/ and had a fantastic time there while exploring its amazing sights.
The proportion of Mobikes out of circulation is 'minuscule'? Yeah, I'm going to call BS on the semantics of that one. When you have thousands of bikes blanketing paths, streets and roads, of course, the percentage of what you would consider 'out of circulation' would be minuscule.
Doesn't mean you don't have a responsibility to, I don't know, clear out some of the older models of the bike to make way for the newer ones with more effective tracking. Same goes for Ofo, just start with the Ofo bikes that have non-electronic locks. Recycle as best you can.

oh god, boo hoo...another shameless post from this guy spamming the comments again...
peddle your crap elsewhere man...all you do is advertise your business on the comments sections on this website
LOL, this coming from someone who created an account just to complain that someone else is spamming?
This is an events and lifestyle magazine, and this was a blog post about upcoming markets, one of which it seems is being organised by Cultural Keys. It's completely relevant, so how exactly is that spam? It's not like he's peddling VPN routers or looking for GoGo girls, so what's the problem?
You missed a LOT of markets off this list and the list it links to! Pauline's list over at Beijing Kids is much more comprehensive. Hopefully you're planning to update this list so that anyone who doesn't read Beijing Kids can see all the markets on this season! *smile*
