Beer Mania gets you ready for the weekend with DJ Jay 1-2, a lover of B-sides across all genres, playing funky rarities to put you in the mood for Beer Mania’s 65 Belgian beers and get your weekend started a day or two early. 8pm-late. Free. Beer Mania.

SVBKVLT presents Swimful, Howell, Zaliva-D, Shackup
Shanghai's SVBKVLT label present a night of contemporary electronic dance music at Dada Beijing. SVBKVLT's Swimful and label boss Howell are joined by a live set from Do Hit's Zaliva-D and Beijing's Shackup. Expect a heavy night of grime, Gqom, footwork, industrial, bass, and experimental club tracks. Price TBA. 10pm. Dada

All Night with Boflex
Back in the day, resident DJs used to spin long sets at clubs, often signifying that the DJ would be on the decks for a minimum of eight hours. These DJs controlled the arc of the night and have creative control though these long sets. This Friday, Migas plans to bring the tradition back with DJ Boflex set to spin all night long at Migas, old-school style. Price TBA. 10pm-4am. Migas

An Intro to Grime Music (DJ Night and Exhibition Launch)
Head to the dark depths of Fruityspace this Friday for a bumper course in one of the most blistering genres to come out of the UK in the past two decades: grime. Drawing influence from garage, jungle, Jamaican dancehall, ragga, and hip-hop, tracks often portray the gritty underpinnings of London life and are bolstered with sharp and aggressive rap depicting the urban decay of the city. DJs Logan Sama, Simon and Tom Mouna will spin classic grime tracks alongside a month-long exhibition of artworks by Simon Wheatley, George Quann-Barnett, and Jun Yokoyama. Free. 9pm-late. Hong Kong DJ Paul Barkworth at Lantern
Hong Kong’s very own DJ Paul Barkworth (pictured at top) will make an appearance at Lantern this Saturday and brings with him a slew of great acid house and melodic techno from past and present. Expect an frenzied and crowd-interactive performance that will take you through a discotheque journey and will keep you dancing well into the night. RMB 50. 10pm-late. Lantern

Addison Groove at Dada
Addison Groove visits Beijing for a special set at Dada this Saturday. Known for his dubstep hits Footcrab, Fuk Tha 101, and collaborations with DJ Die, Groove combines jungle, footwork, acid baseline, and drum beats to create a unique groove of his own. Price TBA. 10pm-late. Dada

Dance for Charity: Two Year Anniversary Party
With the simple idea of promoting awareness on depression, and providing social support, CandleX was founded on April 1 2015. Since then, people have found support at their mental health workshops, peer support groups, community campaign projects, and through information in their online classrooms and columns. Modernista will open their doors at 4pm for dance workshops before the party begins at 8pm. Join for a night of fun, celebration, dancing, raffles, and to support CandleX's work on mental health in our community. Tron Pong Party
Bounce down to 8-Bit this Saturday as they team up with Arrow Factory Brewing to bring you their first Tron Pong Party! Using our custom-made tables and some light sorcery the game will come alive in a wonderful boozed glow, which also it makes it a hell of a lot easier to find those glowing orange balls on the roll. DJ's PFAC and Sake Gin will be behind the decks spinning the future sounds of synthwave, nu disco, future funk, glo-fi, synth pop and most likely that awesome track from Drive. Free. 9pm-late. 8-Bit
