This week, new restaurant Nesto opens in Mix Island, Modernista continues to celebrate its 14th anniversary with some great deals, there's an art tour of Songzhuang Art District and more.

Eat – Nesto Soft Opening in Mix Island

On Tuesday (Nov 18), Mix Island's newest resident, Nesto, will have its soft opening. Taking over the space formerly occupied by Mosto, the similarity with the names suggests that it might be going for a similar vibe, though it's unclear if there's any formal connection between the two. The restaurant will specialize in Southern European cuisine with a range of Italian and Spanish dishes. It's also pet-friendly if you want to bring along your furry friends.

Celebrate – Modernista 14th Anniversary

Modernista is celebrating its 14th anniversary this month, and they have some great deals running all this month to celebrate. Firstly, every day from 6pm to 9pm you can get free-flow Berry Graperfruit G&T, Moscow Mule and Mint Julep Fizz for RMB 98. Then, for RMB 158 you can get the same free-flow deal plus a Spanish Pintxos Platter. They are also offering 20 percent off all dishes on their menu from 6pm to 9pm.

Other drink deals include a classic or signature cocktail for the reduced price of RMB 68 from 9pm, with the selected cocktail changing each week. All absinthe will be 50 percent off from 6pm until closing, and lastly, they have a Shot Happy Hour where you can get six shots for RMB 60 after 11pm. Along with deals, they will, of course, have their daily live shows, and you can follow their official WeChat account (ID: Modernista) to see the latest events.

Explore – Songzhuang Art District Tour

This Saturday (Nov 22) from 9.30am to 4pm, there will be an immersive tour of Songzhuang Art District. The tour will include visiting galleries and studios of renowned Chinese artists, such as the outdoor exhibition-container park and the art café of celebrated artist Ma Yue. Shop – Christmas Markets Across Beijing

This weekend (Nov 22-23), the annual Village de Noël Christmas Market will kick off at Maison Flo from 11am to 7pm each day, and then will take place every weekend until Dec 21. Tickets are RMB 29.9/person and can be purchased by scanning the QR code in the poster above. There is also the WAB Winter Market on Sat, Nov 22, from 10am to 3pm at WAB Elementary School.
