... And some non-Monday assorted tidbits

  • We're happy to report that Slow Boat welcome back their Slow-Cari Sweat Gose to their taps, which remains one of our favorite inventions to come out of the Beijing beer scene. Part beer, part sports drink, the Slow-Cari is a mild gose that goes down as easy as the Japanese grapefruit-flavored ion supply drink that it is inspired by. Ringing in at 4.5 percent ABV, it's also deliciously light. Note: We do not condone the wasting of Pocari Sweat, nor beer.
  • Meanwhile, their Sanlitun neighbors, Las Musas, have added two new margaritas to their menu: one using La Higuera Sotol, pineapple, and cilantro, and the other Quiquiriqui Mezcal and jade melon (pictured at top). If you want them for cheap, drop by on Wednesday for their weekly BOGO special.
  • Jing-A have once again team up with Thai kitchen Pak Pak in The Place to open their Jing Xi Beer Garden. The terrace is open 11.30am-11pm daily and Jing-A beers are RMB 10 off between 5-7pm.
  • Finally, Beersmith has released a beer inspired the Nonya breakfast favorite, pandan kaya. The brew uses Maris Otter and Vienna malts to impart a deep and lightly toasted notes, respectively. Then Sabro, Citra, and Eukanot hops provide add a tropical and coconut character. Finally, the Kaya IPA clocks in at sizeable 7.3 percent ABV.

Over and out!
