It's really good to know that Sandra Bullock's character finds safety in a Chinese ship. At least we know going into the movie that she's safe and sound, and will remain that way throughout the duration of the film despite any danger that she may face. Fortunately, those of us lucky enough to have read your post won't need to feel anything for this character or really any sense of excitement, fear, or thrill for the scenes she's in throughout the movie since we already know she's safe. Much appreciated, Nick!

Ridiculous. I have never heard anyone say "choo choo" of all the things to worry about pronouncing. 出去 is not one of them.

my guess is you are not a native english speaker (or your chinese is so bad you can't tell the difference between "出" and "去")

Having been in classrooms full of Chinese language learners (as one myself) and listening to the mispronunciations of westerners for 12 years, the distinction between "出" and "去" is profoundly difficult for most.

I've never really had trouble with this pronunciation --- I think that the Chinese "r" pinyin words are often harder for native english speakers, particularly pinyin like "rui" and "ruan" - this 'r' is so different from english, and combining with a 'u' in a monosyllabic structure is totally alien and disturbing to new learners of Chinese

I also think that the difference in pronunciation between "che" and "chi" gives native english speakers more problems than the "ooo" thing.

Went here as Time Out and City Weekend rave about it , and have various magazine awards adorning the walls.

After two bowls of Minestrone soup that needed a shot of black pepper to taste , a burnt (yes, burnt) Salmon fillet, and ribs that were as meaty as a sparrows kneecap, one was indeed not impressed.

The only saving grace was that I managed to find a divine Piesporter Michelsburg Riesling to numb my taste buds.

Service , it would be better as self-service if you have to rely on the numb-skulls they employ to serve you. They are more interested in shaking cocktails and hanging around the bar.

Save your money and go to McDonalds downstairs.

Does this really look like the face of concern?

The qualifiers happen early because most of the players are professionals, and therefore their time is taken up playing in their respective leagues. It also allows managers to select players and get a team to gel as a unit prior to the competition. Spring training is no different, it just happens over a more compressed period.

I don't get why qualifying matches happen so far in advance of the actual competition. Presumably the skill, personnel and injury satus of every national team could change drastically over the course of a year.

are there any rules that say the team that qualifies has to resemble in some way shape or form to the team that eventually competes?

I have to second what Badr said... The Local has actually opened early for baseball (specifically requested, by the way) and no one showed up.

It's not that I don't want to show them... in fact I have a bit of personal interest: my cousin, Matt Adams, is first baseman for the Cardinals, and while he might not be the best first baseman out there, he sure as all can hit:
