Living in a big city usually means being busy all day, running to catch a packed bus or subway, stressing out in traffic and having to queue for almost everything. In Beijing all of this is usually bigger and louder. No surprise then that many of us daydream about a relaxing evening chatting with friends and enjoying a beer or a cocktail.
That’s why we’ve compiled a list of happy hour deals that will help you to fully enjoy your after-office hours and make best use of your evening lazy time.
Blue Frog
Let’s start with a bang. The winner of “Best Happy Hour” in this year’s Reader Bar & Club Awards organizes a daily buy-one-get-one-free on drinks, available from 4pm to 8pm. On Monday night the promotion is extended to include their staple burgers, giving you the option to easily fill your belly, too.
Flamme
Flamme is renowned for its great steaks as well as for its high-quality drinks. You have the chance to experience beers, wines and cocktails from the menu of “Bartender of the Year” Paul Mathew at 50% off everyday, from 3pm to 7.30pm.
Fubar
If you like your drinks deals even bigger, go for the Fubar Double Happy Hour. On Fridays and Saturdays from 1am to 4am pay RMB 100 and enjoy an all-you-can-drink on Harbin Beer and cocktails, including White Russians and Mojitos.
Lush
Lush’s signature daily happy hour goes from 8pm to 10pm and includes seven Tsingtao for RMB 40 and half-priced cocktails. Expect a big crowd of noisy students though!
Modo
The place to be if you’re looking for good wine and a relaxed atmosphere. Try to get there between 6pm and 8pm and you can take advantage of buy-one-get-one-free deals on wines, beers and cocktails.
Q Bar
The terrace is great and the cocktails are some of the best in town. You get them 40-45% off from Monday to Thursday, between 6pm and 9pm.
Starfish
We’re not talking about shrimp cocktails here. This seafood restaurant has just unveiled its new happy hour with 30% off on wines by the glass or bottle, but you need to be quick because it strictly is a happy hour lasting from 6pm to 7pm.
Terra
More a happy day than a happy hour. Terra’s Tightass Tuesday runs all day and all night, including a two-for-one deal on drinks and ceviches, just in case you get hungry.
The Den
If your dream of a perfect day involves the magic union of sport and beer, this is the place to go. You’ll enjoy a wide range of sporting events and one of the longest happy hours in town, daily from 5pm to 10pm, with half-priced pizza and discounted drinks.
The Stumble Inn
This lively sport bar has a wide selection of beers, many liquors and highly-effective cocktails. Try to stop by any day between 3pm and 9pm and you’ll get discounted drinks that will have you stumbling around.

Nola's has great happy hour deals as well. I think it runs from 5-8pm.
Most nights a selection of wine by the glass is buy-one-get-one. Also, several nights you get a free glass of wine if you order from the dinner menu. Mondays are half-off poboy sandwiches. On Thursdays daiquiris are buy-one-get-one.
There are other specials, but these are just the ones I remember off the top of my head.
