Celine Dion to Perform in Beijing in April
Celine Dion is set to come to Beijing as part of her Taking Chances World Tour. At this morning's press conference, which was held at the Olympic Media Center, BOCOG officials announced that Dion will perform at the Workers' Stadium on April 13 and that along with all her greatest hits (we're guessing the place will erupt when she belts out My Heart Will Go On) she'll also be performing a song 'especially dedicated to honor the upcoming Olympic Games.'
We're also betting that the hordes of Chinese students who adopted the English names Jack and Rose in the late '90s will make up a large proportion of the audience. Titanic took in a record-breaking 360 million yuan (USD 47.59 million) at the Chinese box office to become the most profitable movie in China ever (although Transformers came close), and ensured that every talent show/gala night at every university around the country for the next ten years would include a heart-rendering version of Dion's My Heart Will Go On. Those fans who were penniless Leo-loving teenagers ten years ago are now likely able to afford the the show's 300 kuai tickets, so watch out for some tearful singing-along.
