Brain Failure's Beijing Calling

We just got out hands on Brain Failure's new EP Beijing Calling which features Public Enemy's Chuck D performing on the opening track: A Box On The Broken Ball(北京呼唤 Beijing Huhuan). The EP also includes a track called Fall in Love 2008 (深爱2008 shen’ai 2008) and two remixes of A Box On The Broken Ball. If the title of the EP doesn't give it away, Brain Failure cite The Clash among their idols and if you take a listen to the track (available at their MySpace, on the Bad News Records site or over at iTunes) and it's not hard to hear the influence of the seminal British punk band.

Brain Failure have been on the Beijing scene for an age but have recently started to make waves internationally, touring Japan with the Dropkick Murphys back in 2004 and having Brian Hardgroove on hand to help them produce their latest album Made in China, which they plan to release in Autumn. The album will include the track A Box On The Broken Ball.

Their Spring "Beijing Calling" tour kicked off in Jinan on May 7 and will wrap up at Beijing's Mao Livehouse on June 14.
