Public Toilets: Can you hold on for 10 minutes?

There has been a lot of talk about the capital's plans for post-Olympic development and according to recent news reports, one area that the city government has ambitious plans for, is the city's network of public toilets. The government has announced that they have a goal of making sure that by 2010 any pedestrian taking a stroll through the urban districts of the city will be able to get to a public toilet within 8-10 minutes. The ease of finding a toilet will largely rely on the installation of thousands of bilingual signs (like the one pictured above) across town.

People will also be able to check online to find the nearest toilet. Officials from Beijing municipal administration commission said that the city's Ministry of Health is collecting the longitude and latitude points of all the public toilets throughout the city. This information will later be published on official websites and drawn upon in the production of official tourist and traffic maps.

maybe 1 hour

Can I hold for 10 minutes? I doubt so... when the stench of the toilet is so overbearing, holding 10 minutes is like being splashed with acid.

By the way, I think the government could save all the money for signs to clean up those disgusting toilets. I don't even need a sign to find a toilet. The stench leads me there already.

a good policy for the people

trust me ,i am the future
