10 Years this September: Brasserie Flo
Still one of Beijing’s most highly rated French restaurants, Brasserie Flo celebrates ten years in Beijing this September. A Michelin-star-studded event is in the works for the big anniversary, but if you wait until then to visit you’ll probably miss the chance to enjoy some good weather on the newly renovated terrace.
In the shade of tall trees and umbrellas, the neighboring eyesores and proximity to the Third Ring Road slip out of mind on Flo’s second-floor deck. The business lunches present an accessible introduction, with two to four courses for RMB 68 to RMB 138. Flo’s lunch menus offer greater choice than the two or three options per course commonly found at other business lunches, and chef Bertrand Combe regularly adds new dishes – the menu is rotated weekly. Be sure to try the ice creams and sherbets, which can be served as a debate-inciting blind tasting platter.
