Weibo Reveals Lifestyles of Rich and Famous

Weibo’s been giving netizens a reason to chatter recently. It’s the platform on which Ding Junhui can profess his love of Disney and Wang Gongquan can confess to loving his mistress. It seems everyone has something to say.

With updates like “I’m going to eat now” and “Bought lots of fairytale dolls”, it’s hard to see how he’s accumulated over 100,000 followers (in a week no less). Then again, an insight into the mind of a man who managed to beat Steve Davis could be an eye opener. Go here for his Weibo.

Billionaire Wang Gongquan left his wife and as if that weren’t bad enough, he posted the announcement on Weibo. That’s got to sting. Still, he’s not being a total cad as he would gladly “kneel down and beg forgiveness!” He’s not all about the Benjamins though, on top of being a massively successful investor, he dabbles in the music industry.

You’d have thought working for a charity would make you significantly more sensitive to the plight of others. Not so much in the case of 20 year old micro-blogger Guo Mei-US, who despite working as Chinese Red Cross’s General Business Manager cruises around town in a Maserati and flaunts cash like there’s no tomorrow. She's now removed the gaudy posts but is telling her "voyeurs" to "stop being nosy". I'm sure she didn't mean her 23,736 followers though.

Ding Junhui and Steve Davis are both very successful snooker players. It’s relevant because of how quickly Ding accumulated followers, which is a testament to his fame in China.

Guo Meimei backpedaled her way out and stated that it was a different Red Cross organization only to then announce it was all a hoax. Apparently she "faked the job identity due to ignorance."

And so the stalking begins:

Run Baby run: Guo Meimei stalked through Beijing

Quote:
The stalking began on the morning of June 26, when a message appeared on the internet saying that Guo would be boarding a flight from Shenzhen to Beijing with her mother that night.

Soon Guo's e-ticket and itinerary were posted online, attracting several views from bloggers, who vowed to stay awake through the night to catch a glimpse of her.
