July is definitely a time for wearing less than usual, but VS Lounge takes that one step further this Saturday (July 9) with what they're hyping as "Beijing's first" men's lingerie fashion show. There'll also be a male go-go dancer. Apparently all this is in response to "customer demand." Just to keep the stakes even in the battle of the sexes, VS is also hosting a "Miss Victoria Secrets" beauty pageant on Saturday – ladies between the ages of 18 and 30 who are interested can register at vsbeijing@gmail.com. The party starts at 10pm and entry is RMB 80.

You should already be able to get a drink at the newly doubled-in-size Beer Mania on Friday night and get a sneak peek at the bar's upgrade, but the grand reopening party is Saturday night (July 9), with music from the Beijing Beatles, and the chance to win a 3L bottle of Chimay Blue in a pool tournament on their new table. Draft beers include Stella, Hoegaarden, Chimay Red, Beijing Draft and Strongbow, and the bar is also set to expand its beer selection. To register for the pool tournament, which gets underway at 4pm, email beermania.beijing@gmail.com. The band starts at 9pm.

Feminists, stop reading - yet another beauty pageant is on the way. Vandergeeten and St. Louis Kriek are hosting a "Miss St. Louis" competition over the next few weeks, seeking to anoint one winning contestant as a brand ambassador for St. Louis Kriek for 12 months. The winner will also enjoy an all-expenses paid trip to Belgium. The first round will be held at Beer Mania as part of the Belgian National Day celebrations on July 21, with the final at Sanlitun Soho on July 24. For more information on how to enter, click here.

Following last weekend's Great Aircraft Carrier Party and New Moon Party, the GoaProductions boys are taking their turn at leading a merry band of funseekers out of the capital's concrete jungle. Their "Forest Magic" party takes place in the mountains of Huairou on Saturday night (July 9). There's space for camping and the RMB 150 ticket includes transport and entry to the park. Buses leave from Nongzhanguan subway station on Line 10 at 2pm on Saturday afternoon.

Setanta satellite TV is now available in Stumble Inn and Union, showing sports like Gaelic football and Australia's State of Origin rugby series. How long it will be before access is cut off – as often happens with satellite sport channels – is anyone's guess, but get along and enjoy it while it lasts if they're showing your sport.
