Talking Pints: Free Drink, Free Food and Footprints

TFI Friday. Stifling, ain't it? There's only one thing for it: another night out on a terrace somewhere with a cold drink in hand. So what's there to do? Plenty, in short. There's a Hotpot Party at Migas, a Footprint night at Lantern, another edition of The Detroit Series, and The Bookworm Quiz moves into its new home in the notoriously feisty Friday night slot.

Plan B turns one on Sunday (Aug 4). The contingency has come a long way in 12 short months – I can't even remember what it looked like when it used to be only half as big – but they'll celebrate turning one with a blowout party between 1 and 4pm where they'll be shifting free beer, free cocktails and free food. Even if you hate the place, get along and fill your belly on them. Just to spite them.

Check out this swanky clubber's website. Slick, eh? Given that they hosted a party at Dada last night, it's safe to assume we may see a BJ version before too long.

Don't forget about Qixi Festival. Chinese Valentines Day is coming up fast (Aug 13). Wine Republic are rolling out a promotion on some of their stuff until August 15.

Highlights:

  • We mentioned it up there, but the Hotpot Party at Migas tonight (Aug 2) will be well worth a stop. DJ Wordy will deputise at the decks.
  • Tom Champagne will host the inaugural Friday Night Quiz at The Bookworm later tonight.
  • While Alfa hosts a Rainbow Party complete with rainbow shots and rainbow cake.
  • Lantern will host Who is the DJ? tomorrow night (Aug 3). You'll have to stop by for the answer.
  • Also on Saturday, Dave Spivey returns to The Bar at Migas for the latest in their Detroit Series.
  • And Comedy Club China will provide the laughs at Taps from 8pm.

There's plenty more going on, but you'll have to go here to find out about it.

Have a great weekend.
