Community Matters: Wrap Your Head Around The New Visa Policy

A whole new set of visa and resident permit regulations went into effect in the first week of September this year. This created confusion among foreign visitors and residents and even caused emergency trips out of the country for some to get documentation sorted out. A lot has been written about these changes and seminars have been popping up around town to help guide people through the muddle.

This Friday The World of Chinese will be hosting a talk billed as "The one and only way to wrap your head around China's new visa policy, if any," and will attempt to shed light on the following questions plus more:

  • What are you allowed to do work-wise with a Student Visa? (paid/ unpaid internship, part-time/ full-time work)
  • How do you get a criminal record background check?
  • What are the requirements for getting a business/work Visa?
  • What are the different qualifications for a R Visa? (What qualifies as highly skilled or urgently needed)
  • What does S Visa mean? (What are private activities?)
