Matt Damon, Bryan Cranston to Scale Great Wall for Zhang Yimou?

Great Wall Hunting?

Breaking Badaling?

Matt Damon and Bryan Cranston could be lining up to climb Zhang Yimou's upcoming Legendary Pictures production of "The Great Wall."

The Bourne trilogy star is in talks for the lead in the China-themed thriller, while Breaking Bad's Cranston would play the villain. Reports indicate that Cranston is only interested if he plays opposite Damon.

The Great Wall  is a supernatural thriller with a major China component. Damon's participation is still questionable, as he's shooting Blade Runner director Ridley Scott's The Martian, with another Bourne installment on the slate after that. Damon may have been Zhang's first choice for Flowers of War, which ultimately starred Christian Bale.

"The Great Wall will be produced by Thomas Tull, Charles Roven, Jon Jashni, Richard Suckle and Peter Loehr," the latter a long-time Beijinger and CEO of Legendary East.

Once set to be directed by Ed Zwick, with Henry Cavill and Benjamin Walker to play the leads, but Legendary went back to the drawing board for more star power and a different director.
