Don't Miss: Two Michelin-Starred Chef Jean-Pierre Jacob at Conrad Beijing

Unfortunately, Beijing's food scene (or anywhere in Mainland China for that matter) has not yet been blessed with a Michelin star. Fortunately, what we do have is frequent visits from Michelin-starred chefs from around the world, including most recently Umberto Bombana (three Michelin stars, Otto e Mezzo Bombana, Hong Kong), Daniel Chambon (one Michelin star, Le Pont de L'Ouysse, France), and Jean-Marc Boyer (one Michelin star, Le Puits de Trésor, France).

The latest chef to join the roster is two Michelin-starred Jean-Pierre Jacob from acclaimed restaurant Le Bateau Ivre in Savoie, France, who is taking to the stoves at 29 Grill in the Conrad Beijing. Mr. Jacob joins the Conrad's own executive chef Yannick Ehrsam to present a set menu of modern French flavors such as cream of Jerusalem artichoke and foie gras with raspberry sorbet and French-style roast duck, beetroot and fig, with spicy sauce (with products provided by Périgord foie gras producer Rougié).

A four course lunch menu is a very reasonable RMB 300 (plus 15 percent service charge), while for dinner you can choose either five (RMB 500, RMB 800 with wine pairing, plus 15 percent service charge) or eight (RMB 800, RMB 1280 with wine pairing, plus 15 percent service charge) courses. Both are available until November 1.
