Burger Brief: Flamme's Signature Burger

Burger Brief takes a look at some of the contestants in the Beijinger's 2015 Burger Cup. Now that we're down to the Sweet 16, we talk to Carrie Lei of Flamme, whose venue is still in contention for the honor of Beijing's Best Burger.

Name: Carrie Lei, assistant marketing manager of Flamme.
Nationality: Chinese
Number of Years in Beijing: 14
Venue: Flamme
Name of signature burger: The Flamme Signature Burger

Tell us about your signature burger. What makes it the best burger in Beijing?
The beef patty is, of course, a very important component in a burger. Our beef patty is particularly juicy and is made with high quality imported beef. Our Signature Burger includes two beef patties, perfect for Beijing's meat lovers. We also make our own buns.

What does the burger come with?
It comes with our Simplot french chips, which are very crisp. We put the onions and lettuce beside the burger, as some people may not want to add them.

What drink from your menu goes best with the burger?
I would recommend a healthy juice to go with our burger, which is made with fresh fruit. One of my favorites is the Immune Zoom, which includes mango, apple, passion fruit, and orange and is very refreshing. I think a 200g beef patty with bacon, egg, cheese and bread bun, is a big meal, so it's wise to choose a something healthy to go with it.

What other burgers do you have on the menu?
We don’t have any other burgers but we do have Steak Slider mini burgers. The sliders are very popular and sit in the top three items sold on our appetizer menu.

Aside from your own restaurant's burger, what was the best burger you’ve ever had?
I do think Flamme's burger is the best, not because I work at Flamme, but because I really love it  it’s so flavorful and juicy and yummy! As far as other burgers, I remember trying the foie gras burger at Maison Boulud and thinking it was very delicious, so it's a pity that the restaurant has since closed.
