Give Someone Else Something to be Thankful For with The Thanksliving Festival, Nov 28

Thanksgiving is a time for reflecting and celebrating with family and friends, but how about giving someone else something to be thankful for this year? Well, now's your chance as two of Beijing's most active and passionate communities, Living Project x Nepal and Farm to Neighbors come together this Thanksgiving for the Thanksliving Festival, held at Liangmaqiao's Grand Summit on November 28.

The event, which includes a lunch, all-day farmer's market, live performances, and workshops, is in aid of Living Project x Nepal. All profits raised will go to this worthy cause.

Living Project x Nepal is a community of friends who started in Beijing with the aim of creating cultural events to raise money to support the education system in remote villages in Nepal that were most affected by the devastating earthquake in April 2015. Kipp Whittaker wrote about Living Project and its founders Valeria Chan and Joanna Baxter in the November issue of the Beijinger - read more on that here.

The event kicks off with an authentic Nepalese feast, prepared with ingredients from Farm to Neighbors, as well as dishes straight from the Farm to Neighbors market, such as pumpkin soup from Yiweiduo Ecological Farm and traditional rice wine from Tangsir. The feast costs RMB 180 per person, or RMB 150 if you pay before November 26. Add farmtoneighbors on WeChat for more information.

In the afternoon they are hosting a number of art and dance workshops, lasting 1.5 to 2-hours each, on a wide range of activities from flower arranging to Bollywood dance. Workshops cost RMB 150 per person. For the full schedule, see the event listing
