Mr. Shi’s Celebrates One Year in Sanlitun with Dumpling and Beer Orgy, April 8

2016 Reader Restaurant Awards Best Dumplings Winner Mr. Shi's will celebrate the first anniversary of its Sanlitun branch at the venue with free flow of beer, new dish tastings and a dumpling-eating contest for you to indulge your inner glutton.

The event will be held between 6-11pm on April 8 and will include a number of deals to get people in the mood to celebrate, and then collapse from overindulgence:

  • Free-flow Tsingtao draft beer for RMB 20;
  • Free tasting of the restaurant's new dishes;
  • The chance to challenge last year's dumpling-eating champion (10 dumplings in 23 seconds). The winner will get his or her meal and drinks for free, and 50 percent off goes to anyone who finishes 10 dumplings in 30 seconds;
  • Free souvenirs from Mr. Shi.

The ever-popular Mr. Shi's is well-known among travelers due to its inclusion in Lonely Planet and equally well-liked by locals due to the perpetually friendly laoban from which the chain takes its name.

They'll also use the occasion to launch their new menu, adding a whopping 40 to 50 new dishes to their already extensive menu. New options will include spicy fried green beans (RMB 32), kungpao chicken (RMB 32), and grilled fish (RMB 88).

The kitchen will also branch out with some new noodle dishes (RMB 25-32), fried rice, and six different soups (RMB 22-26), giving you even more reason to stop by.
