Intercontinental Beijing Sanlitun Set to Open September 1

The Intercontinental Beijing Sanlitun, already towering over one of the city's most popular entertainment districts, will accept its first guests on September 1, Intercontinental's website indicated.

Although interviews for and hiring of staff began eariler this month, and the construction fencing around both the hotel and the neighboring Topwin Center retail complex has been largely removed, clearly the hotel's interior isn't quite ready for hospitality primetime.

The hotel will be Intercontinental's third in Beijing, after the Intercontinental Beijing Financial Street and the Intercontinental Beijing Beichen.

Looks Nan Sanlitun Lu, the north end of which got a traffic makeover earlier this year, and which will be home to Slow Boat Brewery's flagship site this summer, will be getting a whole lot more traffic starting this autumn.

Make your reservations here if you're an eager beaver. The best available rate as of this writing is RMB 2,250 per night.
