Get a Taste Southeast Asia at the Intercontinental Beijing Beichen's Buffet

If you find yourself stuck at a conference at the China National Convention Center or the Beijing International Convention Center near the North Fourth Ring Road, or peckish after watching a sporting event at the former Olympic venues, you may want to consider a much-deserved buffet dinner at Café O2 at Intercontinental Beijing Beichen.

Running until June 30, the hotel is hosting a Southeast Asia Food Festival, featuring dishes such as Malaysian laksa and bak kut teh (a light meat stew), Thai curry crab with pineapple rice, and Singapore black pepper shrimp.

The Indonesian prawn crackers were crispy and full of fresh flavor – we couldn’t stop eating them.

The Vietnamese-style prawn salad was also very authentic and fresh, with aromas of lemongrass and peppermint.

The lunch buffet costs RMB 298, dinner RMB 328 (plus 15 percent service charge). Aside from the buffet, you can also swing by the hotel's Italian restaurant, Trattoria, which has outdoor seating on the roof terrace (only open for dinner), or Beichen's Chinese restaurant, Di, which serves Cantonese cuisine in an elegant setting.
