[UPDATED] With More than 20 Brews On Offer, Saturday's Burger Cup Festival is Also a Beer Festival

[Updated May 25]

The Burger Cup Festival is approaching rapidly, landing at the Oasis International Hospital this Saturday (May 28). Once you're full of the city's best burgers you'll be able to decide which one you think should win this year's burger crown (with voting from May 30 onwards).

Worried about spending all of Saturday out and about in the sun with nothing to quench your thirst and wash down the goods? Have no fear, we wouldn't leave you high and dry, and have arranged for sufficient beer on site to get you through the day and into the early evening. Let’s have a look at what lovely bubbly drinks will be on offer.

Representing the local microbrews, we have Great Leap Brewing, Slow Boat Brewery, Dongli Brewery, Koli's Camp and Drunk Bar.

  • Edmund Backhouse Pilsner 4.5 percent ABV (on tap)
  • Craft Ginger Soda

Slow Boat Brewery (bottles)

  • Zombie Pirate Pale Ale 4.75 percent ABV
  • The First Immortal Double IPA 8.0 percent ABV
  • Eight Six Golden Lager 4.6 percent ABV
  • Hong Kong Series Session IPA 4.25 percent ABV

Koli's Camp (all on tap)

  • American IPA 6.3 percent ABV
  • Brown Ale

Drunk Bar

There'll also be a bunch of imported beers, including brews from Warsteiner, Delirium, Chimay, Firestone Walker Brewery, and Boulevard Brewery (all on tap). Personally, I'm excited for Boulevard's Hibiscus Gose, a slightly sour seasonal summer ale, flavored using hibiscus flowers.

Vandergeeten

  • Warsteiner Premium Verum (German Pilsner) 4.8 percent ABV
  • Delirium Tremens (Belgian Strong Pale Ale) 9.0 percent ABV
  • Chimay Red (Belgian Trappist Dubbel) 7.0 percent ABV

Firestone Walker

  • Pale 31 (California style pale ale) 4.9 percent ABV
  • Union Jack IPA 7.5 percent ABV

Boulevard Brewery

  • Boulevard Pale Ale 5.4 percent ABV
  • Single Wide IPA 5.7 percent ABV
  • Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale 8.5 percent ABV
  • Hibiscus Gose 4.2 percent ABV

Well, that'll certainly do the trick. Just make sure to strike a balance between everything on offer or run the risk of entering a food-beer coma early on in the day.

We can't wait to see you all at the Burger Cup Festival!
