Go (South)West for October Holidays on The Hutong Yunnan Bike Journey

The Hutong is offering an escape option for October holiday that won't require an additional visa, has plenty of fresh air, and may even be fun along the way.

Its annual Yunnan Bike Journey covers 385 kilometers over seven days, through one of China's most ecologically rich and culturally diverse areas. The ride winds through Xishuangbanna, which borders Laos. If it were any farther south, it would be part of Southeast Asia.

Along the way, there are opportunities ot interact with ethnic minorities including the Dai, the Jinuo, and the Hani, to see birds and wildlife in their native habitat, and to sample local cuisines, including varieties of tea both served in the familiar beverage form or prepared with and in food.

The Hutong classifies the difficulty of the riding as "three out of five. You do not need to be a Tour de France rider, but you will need to be able to take on some hills."

The trip runs October 1-9. For more information, visit the trip website.
