Bid Farewell to Modo Urban Deli With 30 Percent Off Until November 30

Brace yourselves for another loss to the F&B world at the end of the month as we bid farewell to Taikoo Li stalwart Modo Urban Deli. According to a WeChat post released yesterday by owners Mosto Group, they decided to close Modo since the contract is up. As they put it:

"All great things sometimes must come to an end, and so, it's time for the Mosto family to announce that MODO, because of the completion of her contract, has reached the final month of her Sanlitun reign. The Mosto family wants to take this time as a good opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of you for your wonderful support."

Modo Urban Deli first opened in 2010 as just Modo, serving contemporary fusion "small plates" alongside a thoughtfully curated selection of wines by glass. They added the Urban Deli part of the name in mid-2013, when the restaurant reopened after extensive renovations as a deli offering sit-down and takeaway options including creative salads, deli platters, and the best damn Cuban sandwich in Beijing. Over the years they kept things fresh with frequent new menu items and an awesome grab and go picnic set (complete with a map of the best picnic spots).

As if you needed an excuse to pay Modo a visit before the doors close for good, they are offering 30 percent off everything (yep, everything) until November 30. Pro tip: order the Swedish meatballs, tender meatballs served over a hefty pile of mashed potatoes and topped with creamy gravy and lingonberry jam.

Modo Urban Deli, you shall be missed.
