EAT: Kaiseki Sets at Nadaman, New Migas Tasting Menu, Brunch at Mio

With Lantern Festival out of the way and Chinese New Year well and truly over, Beijing's dining scene has ticked back up to full swing, with plenty of new menus and promotions to enjoy.

Migas are coming at the Year of the Rooster with a brand new tasting menu featuring seven of their newest and most popular dishes served in individual portions. Highlights of the menu include wagyu steak tartare with fried egg cream sauce, grilled Iberian pork tenderloin (pictured at top), and "Txangurro" chili crab, a Basque-Singaporean fusion crab dish. Read my take on these dishes and more from Migas' new menu in this blog. Priced at RMB 388 per person, the menu is available for both lunch and dinner, although note that it must be ordered by the entire table.

Migas also recently launched a refreshed dessert menu, which you can bet your bottom dollar we will be going to try very soon.

Speaking of set menus, China World Summit Wing's Japanese restaurant Nadaman has just revamped its a la carte menu and set menus. The set lunches in particular offer pretty good value, especially for those working in nearby offices. There is a wide range of sets to choose from, including sashimi, grilled eel, grilled mackerel, pork cutlet, and tempura, and all sets include an appetizer, salad, rice, pickles, chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), and miso soup. They are also serving healthy vegetarian sets and set meals for children for the first time. We say: perfect for business meetings and important lunches.

That's got your weekdays covered, but what about the weekend? If you're looking for something a touch fancier than your usual weekend brunch (maybe you're making up for missing Valentine's Day, we're not judging ...), why not give Mio a try?

The Four Seasons' Italian restaurant may look glitzy and tuhao-fabulous but it serves some very serious food. Their brunch menu allows you to sample a range of their Italian fine dining dishes, including two appetizers, a soup, two pizzas, a pasta or risotto, two main courses, and dessert, priced at RMB 798 for two (plus tax and surcharge).
