OlymPicks: Volunteer at This Year's Olympic Day and Rub Shoulders With the World's Olympians, Jun 18

OlymPicks is an ongoing blog series whereby we highlight news, gossip, and developments regarding the buildup to Beijing's 2022 Winter Olympics.

If you're the type of sports fan who doesn't just look forward to watching every minute of the Olympic Games, but also fantasizing about taking part somehow, then you're in luck.

That's because the annual national Olympic Day arrives on Sunday, June 18, at the National Olympic Sports Center, and there's a big opportunity to not only volunteer but also meet high-standing members of the Olympic Committee, along with the star athletes.

The event will feature "an Olympic run will be the main activity in order to further promote the Olympic culture and raising public awareness" along with appearances by the chairman, vice chairman, and general secretary of the Chinese Olympic Committee, along with the director of the Olympic Sports Center and a few yet-to-be-named athletes.

Coordinated by Interns In Beijing, the volunteer opportunity will prompt participants to help with registration and other such tasks to help assist the runners (many volunteers will join in on the run as well once their other tasks are done).

Interns In Beijing is an organization that, according to its WeChat summary, aims to help you "find your internship, build your career and meet new friends with Beijing's biggest platform for Young Professionals."

The annual Olympic Day is Sunday, June 18 from 8.30-11.30am at the National Olympic Sports Center (Panda Square, 国家奥林匹克体育中心熊猫广场). For more information, click here or scan the QR code above.
