Get Your Negroni Fix With Renowned Bavarian Guest Bartender Mauro Mahjoub at Atmosphere, Sep 26-30

Sure, you might claim to love Negronis, but your affinity for of this timeless Campari-laden cocktail pales in comparison to that of Mauro Mahjoub, who will serve as guest bartender at Atmosphere from Sep 26-30.

When he opened a bar in Bavaria in 1998, he called it Negroni. Since 2008, he's been a brand ambassador for Campari, and he is also the co-founder of that company's “Liquid Art” contest in Germany. In 2009, he opened yet another similarly named bar, Mauro’s Negroni Club, in Haidhausen, Munich. He also hosts seminars, runs courses, and coordinates other such happenings to help his peers also become well-versed in the wonders of the Negroni.

That being said, his feats are by no means limited to the Negroni niche: In 2002, he was awarded Bartender of the Year in Bavaria. In a video with Gourmet Traveler (which you can see here), he introduces not only the ingredients of the classic Americano cocktail, but also its historical origins, showing a flair for hosting and storytelling as well as drink-making and bartending.

And while he is well-versed in the virtues of the Negroni and its history, he's by no means averse to playing with ingredients and advancing the cocktail for patrons who are equally open-minded. A statement from Atmosphere says "cocktail lovers will be in for a treat" during Mauro's residency at the Beijing business district bar because he will present "five handcrafted drinks: Negroni Juleps, Negroni Western, El Jimador Loco, Black Forest, and Dune."

If all that is making you thirsty, then be sure to book your seat at this limited residency, by either calling (86 10) 8571 6459 or fbreservations.cwsw@shangri-la.com. For further information, check out our event listing about Mahjoub's visit by clicking here.
