Get an Eyeful of This! The Rad Entertainment Lined up for the Oct 13-14 Pizza Fest
As this weekend's (Oct 13-14, 11am-8pm) Pizza Festival draws near, so does the anticipation for the myriad entertainment, live music, games, and performers that will grace this year's stage in Zhongguancun Software Park.
And what a line-up we have. While you're not scouring the triangular delights on offer on Saturday and Sunday or rolling around on the grass baked out of your mind on said eats, there'll be bands, competitions, performers, and even pizza tossing troupes hitting the stage to keep you awake and moving.
Read on to have a little taste of what will be in store.
The Italian Way

The Italian Way is the project of Nora Pierro, a blast from the past to the Italian golden era of the 1970s, when musical production was the perfect mirror for the beauty and brilliance of society during the country's economic boom. Blurring lines between genres, The Italian Way look to use everyday songs to tell the story of Italy through American 1930s swing, musica melodica, musica leggera, and folk.
Royal Band

Singer, dancer, and model Ekaterina and professional keyboardist and DJ Andy make up Royal Band, a duo that flirts with rock, pop, jazz, and lounge as well as improvisational elements that will be sure to have the crowd jumping up and down even when full of dough.
Balboa Swing

Balboa Swing is one of Beijing's foremost swing communities and is made up of individuals who love vintage jazz music and dance. For this weekend's Pizza Festival, they have even prepared a special dance performance, choreographed to a 1950s Italian jazz tune "Un Bacio a Mezzanotte", decked out in vintage costumes and hairstyles that really bring the 1950s back to life, and perfect for a Roman Holiday.

Tube Station Pizza Tossing

Quickly becoming a staple at our Pizza Festivals, Tube Station's pizza tossing team wow the crowd with their mastery, spining dough high enough into the sky that it threatens to never come down again. After showing you what they've got, they'll be tossing pizza at you, you crowd, so best to come hungry.
B Active

Should you want to not eat endless pizza all day (as if), one of Beijing's biggest gyms, B Active, will be on hand to walk us through a pizza-related fitness competition, should you be able to walk, that is. If you can swirl, squatting, and dance, you're in good stead to win prizes.
Inko Tribal Bellydance

There’s body language, and then there’s conveying entire narratives with your moves. Inko di Ö does the latter, bringing her own tribal bellydance to the stage, which as she has told us previously, comes with a "fusion style, which naturally brings me to dance on either very ancient and traditional sounds or very modern and potentially industrial music." For those who have yet to seen Inko in action, you're in for a treat and sure to be amazed by the worlds she conjures through movement alone.
Themed Dress Competition

Finally, we'll be awarding prizes to those in the crowd best dressed like this year's theme Roman Holiday, the classic 1973 romantic comedy starring Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn. That means girls will want to don their best midi-skirt, long-sleeve blouse (with the sleeves rolled up, of course) and a cravat. Men, however, will want to go dapper with an easy-breathing suit, high-waist slacks, and polished shoes.
And that's not all! Catch Good Vibes With Old China Hand DJ Jay 1, 2 at This Year's Pizza Fest, Oct 14
