Root Pop Overcomes Closure to Bring Their Plant Based Fast Food to Four New Locations

The seas of Beijing's F&B scene are tempestuous, and sailing them is a trial only to be undertaken by the brave, and resilient. Following new regulations imposed on a number of Shuangjing based eateries, the trendy vegan fast-food spot Root Pop was forced to close down their original location in the International Art Plaza. According to one of the owners, the law in question has prohibited the use of stoves, ovens, or any "hot" kitchen appliances, leaving space for only prepackaged cold foods  a requirement incompatible with the restaurant's menu and vision.

As speedy as the closure of Root Pop was, it popped up back again in no time. The hardy navigators have teamed up with Bruno Caffé and are now cooking up burgers, hot dogs, and other comfort-meets-health food in four of their locations. Look out for a green "Bruno Fresh" sign out front.

Root Pop stays true to their source, and all the food on offer is 100 percent plant-based, so when you see feta or cheese sauce you can be sure that there is not a drop of dairy in there. No matter your diet preference, you'll be able to satisfy your cold-weather comfort food cravings at Root Pop, with their hearty meat-free burgers and hot dogs (want some sauerkraut with that?), or lighter salads.

Besides the usuals, Root Pop has also rolled out a line of shakes, tailored for immunity, protein intake, or detox. Try out a Bikini Island with coconut milk, papaya, turmeric, and carrot for a real turmeric-kick, or a chocolate-avocado (both RMB 38) for something sweeter.

If you are just looking for a place to pop by for quick lunch, the restaurant has a set of attractive lunch deals. Try the Refresh Sunflower "Tuna" Melt with the almond shake (RMB 56) or mushroom carnitas grilled wrap with a cobb salad (RMB 68).
