Friday, Jan 4

LTJ Bukem
Jungle legend LTJ Bukem will hit the decks at Dada this weekend for a set that is bound to blow you away. The 51-year-old British DJ is renowned for helping to pioneer jungle back when it was merely an obscure subgenre of hardcore techno, nurturing it into a more mainstream style that broke through in the late '90s. RMB 150, RMB 100 (before 11pm). Doors open at 9pm. Dada

LNY
Comprised of Jan Stadhouders and DJ Goodvibes, this Dutch EDM and hardstyle duo is sure to lure a big crowd to Gongti nightclub One Third tonight. With a cosign from elder Dutch DJs Yellow Claw, who have signed and mentored LNY, the junior duo have gone on to snag bookings at many of the world's top clubs, not to mention garnering an invitation to perform at Tomorrowland, the world’s top electronic music festival. RMB 100. Doors open at 9pm. One Third

Underground Movement
Lantern's ongoing Underground Movement series will feature a range of popular local DJs. In Room #1: DJs Blue, Juliana Lima, Sohan, Jackson Lee, and Weng Weng. Room #2, meanwhile, will be held down by Anto, Ludo V, Hamoudeh B2B Kimo, and Edison. RMB 50. 10.30pm. Lantern

Psytrance Party Featuring DJ Dice Twice
Ukrainian DJ Dice Twice will pump out an eclectic, enchanting mix at Soi Baochao tonight. Among the genres he dabbles in: hip-hop, trip-hop, jazz-hop, reggae, ska, jungle, techno, psytrance, electro-swing, funk, and retro wave. Like a roll of the proverbial dice, DJ Dice Twice's sets remain unpredictable and exciting. Free. 10pm. Soi Baochao

Haik
Berlin DJ Haik will not only pump up Zhao Dai attendees with his DJing, but also his singing. The versatile DJ is a 20-year veteran of Berlin's nightlife scene, and is the head of his own FormResonance label. Price TBD. 10pm. Zhao Dai

Saturday, Jan 5

Joe Nice
Hailing from Baltimore, this well-regarded dubstep dynamo is poised to wow the Dada crowd on Saturday. Proponents point to Joe Nice as one of dubstep's very first DJs, a pioneer of the genre back before it even had a name, let alone a strong following. In the ensuing 15 years, he has pushed the genre in bold new directions, which will surely be evident at his Beijing set. RMB 60. Doors open at 9pm. Dada

Dark Room: Tales of the Desert
Kimo Elasly, aka DJ Kimo, is a rising DJ worth keeping your eye on. His desert-inspired sets are by turns sandstorm gritty and gorgeously sunkissed. The party is part of Aurora's Dark Room series, which is designed to promote up and coming talent. Aside from Kimo's set, DJs Pancake Lee, Leslie Jaycee, and Black Arima round out the roster. Free. 10pm. Aurora

ATEQ (Giegling Collective)
Zhao Dai plays host to more Giegling action this Saturday. This time around, it's the German collective's ATEQ turn to enchant the crowd with his mellow, melancholic, and sophisticated house, techno, and ambient works. He'll share the stage with T.K.L. and Mohemann. Price TBD. 10pm. Zhao Dai

Dojo Shaolin Hip-hop Party
Aside from his DJing skills, Dojo Shaolin is also an accomplished drummer. He hit the skins in various bands back in his native Azerbaijan before making his way to Beijing and focusing on turntables. His music has been used in a variety of advertisements and TV programs in China, and he has worked with big mainland names like Chris Lee (Li Yuchun), Gao Yuan Yuan, Peter Stormare, and Peng Yu Yan. What's more: his bio includes a prior collaboration with legendary American pop star Michael Bolton (hopefully the Soi Baochao set harks back to Botlon's Lonely Island glory, instead of his sappy pop chart hits). Free. 10pm. Soi Baochao
