New in the Neighborhood: Georgia's Feast Returns, Neo Kitchen's Healthy Lunches

Craving freshness? For Beijingers, there's always something New in the Neighborhood.

Georgia’s Feast Reopens

The long-awaited reopening of Georgia’s Fest, sister restaurant to Turkish Feast, has come at long last with a huge new mutli-floor space on the south side of the NAGA plaza at Dongzhimen.

The new spot is as classy as the meaty and cheesy sections are filling, and it also features an outdoor patio, conveniently located next to the bar for outdoor daytime dining and drinking. And get this – there’s even a KTV in the basement where guests can enjoy the same food and beverage that they can on the upper floors. Count us in!

To start out, however, the party won’t be quite so wild – only six tables will be available from 5pm during this soft opening. For reservations, add ID Veronatyt on WeChat.

Neo Kitchen’s makes healthy lunch appetizing

Joining what lately seems to be the golden era of lunching spots serving the offices of the CBD area, Neo Kitchen has positioned itself as a Taiwanese-style health food spot, situated in a well-lit and modern space at Office Park Parking Lot, just across the street from The Place.

The marketing materials are quick to offer up their picture-perfect, open-faced sandwiches, but in our opinion, it’s the buffet that’s the real draw. It’s not all you can eat (rather, it’s priced per portion added), but for the quantity, quality, and variety, it’s a pretty good value.

There’s plenty of meat to be had, but Neo is also very vegetarian-friendly – not only are most of the sandwiches vegetarian, but you could fill up your whole platter with vegetarian options at the buffet and still have new ones to try your next time back.

New crab spot at Topwin

In addition to mooncakes, Mid-Autumn Festival is the time when locals love to eat crabs, even in non-coastal cities.

So, just in time for the feast, Xiejia has opened on the third floor of Topwin. Diners come for the crab hot pot, but they stay for the Angus beef barbecue, cheese rice bowl, crab pies, and other Japanese seafood specialties.
