Busy Holiday: A Few Things to Do Today in Beijing, Oct 1
The Golden Week has arrived, and to keep you busy from Oct 1 to Oct 7, we’ve compiled daily lists of some of the most interesting events to be found around the capital for the holiday.
Taikooli x LAX Youth Coffee Life Fest
Taikooli is teaming up with LAX Market for the a festival focused coffee and other trends over the holiday, with 80+ vendors converging on Taikooli West to bring the latest and greatest in coffee, lifestyle brands and more to festivalgoers.
Trend Youth Coffee Life Fest is happening every day 'til Oct 6, from 11am-9pm daily outside Taikooli West. Entry is free.
Coffee Youth Day - Central Axis of Beijing
Walking With Coffee and Hopson Mall are also jumping on the coffee fest bandwagon over the holiday with a two day festival along Beijing's Central Axis. Here you'll find 24 coffee brands to enjoy while taking in the scenery around Yongdingmen.
The Walking With Coffee x Hopson Mall Coffee Youth Day - Central Axis of Beijing is happening from Oct 1-2, 11am-6pm each day at the South Side Pop-up Square (8 Yongwaiguo Yuan, Fengtai District; 丰台区永外果园8号). Entry to the event is free.
Autumn & Winter Junk Day Market at Fruityspace
Despite the name, live house Fruityspace is pretty serious about this flea market as a space for exchanging goods, not selling for profit.
It’s been split into two sections. Oct 1-2 will be limited to anything related to music, film and television. That means second-hand music instruments, band t-shirts, film posters and other stuff.
Oct 3-4 are open to anything – books, clothes and other stuff – you’d be willing to exchange for something better or get rid of.
The Autumn & Winter Junk Day Market takes place at Fruityspace from Oct 1-2 and Oct 3-4, from 2-11pm each day.
"You" Poetry Book Launch at Nugget
British expat and poet Louis Dowling will be launching his debut poetry collection, titled "You", at nugget this Saturday. Come out to hear Dowling read a selection of poems from the book and grab a copy for yourself. All proceeds will be given directly to charity. Dowling's book launch will take place on Oct 1 from 3pm onwards. Entry is free but space is limited.

Play a Round of Golf with the Beijing Golfers' Club
Join the Beijing Golfers' Club on Sunday morning for a round of golf at the HuangGang Golf Club in the CBD. First timers can't join in for free or just drop by and say hi.
The Beijing Golfers' Club's Sunday course visit takes place Sunday, Oct 2 at 8.30am at HuangGang Golf Club. A BGC shuttle bus will leave the Kempinski Hotel at 7am to go to the course, so attendees are encouraged to meet there. Scan the QR code in the poster for more details.
