Tribeca Film Festival comes to Beijing

The well-known Tribeca Film Festival is set to hold two special screenings at Dashanzi art district next Tuesday and Wednesday. The festival, which began as a post-9/11 New York-focused event, is expanding to Beijing, where they have organized two outdoor screenings of the film Planet B-Boy. The film, which premiered at Tribeca just weeks ago, chronicles the recent re-emergence of break-dancing (also known as breaking or b-boying) across the world. A block party will follow the Tuesday evening screening, which begins at 8pm. The organizers are encouraging those interested in taking part to bring a picnic dinner and a blanket with them for a night beneath the stars on Creativity Square in Dashanzi (they’re going to put down some carpet so that it won't be too uncomfortable on the concrete). Best of all, entrance is free. See the 7 Days newsletter for more information.
