Donate and Help Chinese Kids in Need

With such a vast population and so many social issues, China’s problems can often feel overwhelming. No single individual can solve everything, but we can make a huge difference to individual lives. Since 2005 the Beijinger has supported the Ping An Medical Foster Home, a charity that strives to help Chinese orphans born with disabilities or diseases who require surgery. We are currently collecting money for our annual donation.

Many of the kids helped by Ping An suffer from conditions that are easily fixed, but they are often abandoned by impoverished parents or relatives who simply cannot afford the care these children need. Dang Tianle (pictured above) from Lang Fang in Hebei Province is a good example. She was born with a cleft lip and palate. Donations from the Beijinger helped pay for an operation to reconstruct her mouth, and Dang is now living happily with foster parents in the United States. The photo below of Dang in the US illustrates the difference an operation can make.

Last weekend the Beijinger hosted the Fun Wine Auction and managed to raise around RMB 7,000 to help more kids like Dang Tianle. But demand always outweighs supply at Ping An, so if you would like to add to this amount, we are now collecting donations from readers until the end of next week (Friday, November 27).
