Give The Dog A Home: Adoption Drive This Sunday

Thinking of getting a dog? Consider adopting one this weekend: Pet shelters and rescuers from all over Beijing are getting together this Sunday (Apr 15) and hoping to find loving homes for their dogs with an adoption drive.

The event takes place at World Care Pet in Shunyi, running from 10am until noon. As well as representatives from the shelters, there will be vets on hand to answer any questions and concerns you might have. Full details about the event are here.

World Care Pet is just across the road from The Orchard, so you could stop in there for brunch as well - although if you do adopt, we'd recommend you take your new best friend straight home to begin your new life together.

In other pet news, ICVS has a talk tomorrow on departing China with pets. All the information on that is here.

This post originally incorrectly stated that the dog adoption drive would take place on Saturday.

The event will in fact be held on Sunday, April 15.

Apologies for any confusion caused.

@Rebenia,

You clearly need to attend... You are exactly the kind of person this is meant for. Please go and educate yourself about dogs! Dogs rarely carry any diseases that can affect humans. Humans are generally more of a danger than dogs when it comes to infectious diseases.

Doubt wisely; in strange way / To stand inquiring right is not to stray; / To sleep, or run wrong, is. (Donne, Satire III)

Quite interested in it, but do the dogs carry any diseases? Have they injected vaccine?
