Hey Laowai: Heading to the bar & club awards on Saturday? Be sure to carry your proper paperwork (or copies) ... as the crackdown on illegal foreigners is targeting areas like Sanlitun. http://t.cn/zOm4HoD . If you're not legal, best to spend your weekend getting your sh*t together, not partying with us

"Into the Blue"… Jessica Alba looks fantastic!!

Since I saw it on the plane over here just recently, I'll vote for The Descendants. Great views of Hawaii and a really great story.

Sorry I'm an hour late! I only just learned about this now.

Though it's not a "beach movie" per se, you gotta love the ending of Shawshank Redemption. Quite possibly one of the most beautiful beach scenes ever ^_^

Does Planet of the Apes count?

ok... I was half joking with Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus.

My real favorite beach movie is the 80's classic Back to the Beach where Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello come back 20 years later to parody all of the 60s beach bunny movies they starred in.

I remember as a kid on Sunday afternoons they would show old surf movies then always follow up with Back to the Beach. I must have seen it at least 10 times.

The Lost Boys:

It made vampires cool before vampires were cool, and it had BOTH Coreys.

Ok, I'm winning the tickets with this one...

A classic with Lee Marvin:
"Hell in the Pacific" (1968)

Quote:

During World War II, an American pilot and a marooned Japanese navy captain are deserted on a small uninhabited island in the Pacific Ocean. There, they must cease their hostility and cooperate if they want to survive, but will they?

How come nobody said "The Beach" with Leo DiCaprio???? Can't believe it! Am, I late for the tickets? Guess so...

At this rate we will have to start the Beijinger's Beach Movie Club. Keep the entries coming and we will pick the winner at noon on Thursday.

It's Cast Away.
It's not a classical "beach movie" but in this stunning movie the beach become itself
the co-star of Tom Hanks who masterly performs the physical and emotional transformation of a FedEx employee stranded on an uninhabited island after his plane crash.

Lorenzo Lamas?! Mega Shark?! Giant Octopus?! Yes please!

No beach themed competition would be complete without Piñata: Survival Island. Jamie Pressly and the rest of the gang booze it up while the long slumbering Mayan piñata filled with ancient evil souls prays on the group. SPOILER ALERT: They eventually take him down by beating the ancient Mayan piñata with a stick. Did I mention there was a montage?

@Bottle-o:
Because they combined the giant shark and octopus and made it a Navy killing machine in "Sharktopus".
If you don't agree, my Sharktopus can fight your shark and octopus team. ; )

That movie where the little girl rides the whale.
It was beached as.

The Beach.

The heartbreak kid was pretty funny though.

I just hope I'm not banned to attend the bar club award Blum 3

How on EARTH has this not been mentioned yet? Cinematic GOLD!

Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus

Point Break of course!

Baler beach. Philippines

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning"

ost. The Ride of the Valkyries

Ladies and gents,
We're giving you another 24 hours to enter this competition. It will now end on Thursday, May 17 at noon.

Also, Side Out. C. Thomas Howell as a law student turned beach volleyballer and loads of outrageous '80s beachwear.

From here to eternity

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Point Break.

Great movie with excellent actions scenes, beautiful locations and awesome performances by Keanu and the late, great Patrick Swayze.

"How to stuff a wild bikini"

I love the annette funicello's beach movies. Interesting fact buster keaton was in this movie!

Blue Lagoon from the 1980's rocks!

the other is Surf Ninjas!

Two tickets for me and my friend please!

Life is a book, try to read every page

Into the blue by Jessica Alba and Paul Walker

The Endless Summer (1966)

Not only could it be considered one of the first "backpacker films" but it was an epic film depicting some of the great untouched surf spots in history. The Endless Summer 2 is also worth a peak.

Obviously Lord of the Flies
Take that Piggy!

The Goonies

Awesome movie, maybe the beach part is limited, but awesome!

Nothing to see here

The Beach

Blue crush,

just for jessica alba in bikini

Hmm, Jaws and Castway are suggestions hard to beat

Can't believe nobody has mentioned this beach film: Castaway. Definitely the best beach film, who doesn't love Tom Hanks? He makes the best of a horrible situation, very resourceful guy, goes a little insane but who wouldn't? Everyone remembers the heart-wrenching scene where Wilson the volleyball, his only "friend" gets swept away by the ocean and the subsequent rescue. The story is very real and doesn't have a utopian happy ending, which is only good for sappy love stories.

Sharktopus. Because this almost-naked chick gets chomped in half by a ridiculous half-shark, half-octopus while using a metal detector, and some old creeper guy just watches and then steals the treasure she found.

Heya,

My favorite movie that has do with a beach is Point Break with Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves.

Not really a beach movie in the classic style as Gidget, but has surfers and lots of action.

Cheers.

Ilya.

Pirates of the Caribbean: curse of the black pearl (original/1st one)
The others were crappy Smile

It's impossible to think of beach movies without thinking of "Gidget."
Sandra Dee is perfect as Gidget (Girl + Midget), the lovable tomboy who learns to surf while all the other girls are learning how to snare boys.
It's an old, classic, cute beach movie

"the beach" Leonardo diCaprio =D>

Why has this competition been open for enough time to watch both Weekend at Bernie's and Weekend at Bernie's II and no one has yet mentioned either?

Blue Hawaii 1961

Who: Elvis Presley
What: Happy to be back in Hawaii, soldier Chad Gates (played by Elvis Presley) was released from the Army and decided to work as a tour guide at his girlfriend’s agency. This Movie is a CLASSIC and it has the Belated and LOved King ELVIS PRESLEY! It does not get any better than this :

Well I will be the first to say it "JAWS"
It stopped people from swimming and the cello tune is still the universal background musical for Sharks.

All the world's a stage and all the men and women merely players.
