Talking Pints: The Exclusive Skinny on the New Slow Boat and a Boutique Bash

We can finally reveal details of the eagerly anticipated new Slow Boat Brewery Taphouse. You might remember we reported that the microbrewery had set up shop temporarily in Qianmen a couple of months back, but today we received details of what will be their permanent home.

It will be located in the Dongsi neighborhood and the official opening will be on December 15. The taproom will host the biggest collection of beers on tap in Beijing with 20 taps each serving Slow Boat drops.

Some other features include:

* Heated hardwood floors;

* 100-year-old Elm wood bar;

* Handmade furniture;

* Food will also be available.

It will be situated a short walk from both the Zhangzizhonglu and Dongsishitiao subway stops, close to Crescent Moon, Red Capital Club, and Yugong Yishan. On December 1 Slow Boat will release a calendar of events for the upcoming months. We'll let you know about their opening round of events when we find them out and we also hope to be the first to get a peek around the new space.

Cu Ju are rolling out a winter menu. Hot buttered rum (made with a house blend of unsalted butter, pure sugar cane, nutmeg and cloves), and a gin toddy (made with a house infusion of gin and babao cha combined with lemon juice, honey and wolfberry) are the offerings for now. But an elderflower-based winter warmer is to follow. The winter menu will sell at RMB 35. Meanwhile, this Friday and Saturday, RMB 150 will get you a beer & sausage combo dinner over at The Drive-Thru in Sanlitun Soho.

Elsewhere, an intriguing series of gatherings kicks off this weekend as The Tease Boutique host their first in a set of "conceptual parties". The first party takes place near Pingod, south of Guomao, and asks that the dress code of "stylish, outrageous, fashionista, drag queens, or just you!" be adhered to.

Details are a little sketchy as that's how they want it to be, but if you're willing to search out a good underground bash, they're committed to playing sleazy glam and glitter rock, high voltage to f*cked up electro, trashy pop and dirty punk, new wave anthems and incredibly strange music. They aim to host a party or two per month and hope to hold them "somewhere in Beijing, we try to keep around the center. Could be an empty store, bar or even a church". All seems very Cluedo, but why not stop by and check it out?

Slightly more orthodox parties this weekend include a chance to party like a Belgian student at Beer Mania with the music those crazy kids used to listen at University back in Belgium, and Stella at RMB 20 a pint all night. They'll also tap a free keg of Stella for the house to kick off the Party around 10pm.

Footprint mark their first anniversary with a celebration at Lantern tonight (Nov 23), Howie Lee brings an end to his stint in Beijing as he heads off to the UK to study music - he seals his departure with a celebratory bash at Dada tonight (Nov 23) and Syndicate mark eight years with their SucSession party at Dada on Saturday night (Nov 24).

Wherever you get to this weekend, have a great time.
