Photos: The 2013 Global Mobile Internet Carnival, er, Conference

Self-described “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Gamer” Frank Yu (@FrankYu) came to Beijing in 2004 “for the duck” and “stayed for the chuan’r.” In addition to being co-founder and CEO of Kwestr , Beijing tech maven Frank is also an avid Instagrammer (follow him at mkultra00 – with two zeroes at the end) and co-organizer of the Instagramers Beijing group.

In this ongoing gallery series he will be regularly sharing some of his favorite shots, including this selection from the 2013 Global Mobile Internet Conference (GMIC) that took place this past week in Beijing. Here’s what he had to say about the event:

“The 2013 GMIC in Beijing was the biggest yet. This year saw for the first time a massive influx of models, contests and people dressed up in fuzzy costumes to introduce new mobile apps and services. Although there were some great speakers and competitions, I spent most of my time in the carnival ... er exhibition area.”
